Most people, dentists and physicians included, have never heard of this technology. They associate “lasers” with cutting tools or pointers. Cold lasers, properly called biostimulation lasers, or biomodulation lasers, are neither. You may see many on the internet, even being promoted by other doctors as useful healing instruments. Some say they can go through clothing and dark hair.....no way!!! The cold lasers that we use are super-pulsed powerful GaAs lasers in the 40 to 250 watt range. These machines deeply penetrate tissues, even bone, like no others. This form of laser biostimulation is called high intensity laser therapy (HILT). Their results are unmatched. They are designed and made by Dr. Nelson Marquina, USA Laser Biotech, Inc., in Richmond, Virginia. This man is one of the true geniuses of our lifetime. There are no other lasers like them. Dr. Lee also uses continuous wave 1.2 watt lasers for more superficial problems, when the extra penetration is not necessary, and the Nd:YAG laser onboard our Fotona LightWalker for low level laser therapy (LLLT).
The Biostimulation Effect

The application of high intensity, non-destructive laser light that activates cellular physiology, promoting tissue healing and proliferation. It can activate circulating Stem Cells in your body to turn into whatever tissues are needed in the treated area. It activates receptors in the Mitochondria of your cells, which causes them to either start or speed-up production of ATP, the energy packets within your cells. ATP is like rechargeable batteries which your cells and body depend upon for function.

On a larger level, blood vessels in the treated area dilate (open up) to get more blood cells to the area for fighting infections and healing. Treatments can be a single visit, or multiple treatments. REMEMBER: After treatment, drink plenty of water to flush out all of the toxins that are going to be releases from the treated area. How much water should you drink? Divide your weight in half. That number is the amount, in ounces, of water to drink, preferably between meals.
